Kudroli Temple :
Kudroli Temple is a famous temple in the city of Mangalore dedicated to Gokarnanatheswara, another form of Lord Shiva. This is the only temple in Karnataka started by Narayana Guru, the famous social reformer from Kerala. Navarathri is the famous annual festival of this temple. The ninth day celebration is symbolic with a grand procession of Durga similar to Mysore Dasara celebrations.
Kateel Temple :
Katell Durga Paramaeshwari temple is a holy temple situated in the middle of the sacred Nandini River in Mangalore. Since the temple is located in the middle (Katee) of the River, the place is called Kateel. Other deities in the temple are Rakteswari, Mahaaganapati, Ayyappan, Kshetrabalas & Nagas. It is believed that Goddess Durga Parameshwari is fond of music & dance, and a play team is dedicated completely for the cultural activity of Yakshagana illustrating the miracles of the Goddess Durga Parameshwari.
Panambur Beach :
Panambur Beach located near the Mangalore Port is one of the most frequently visited beaches in Mangalore. The beach offers very good views of the sunset. Camel ride is an added attraction at this beach. This beach is famous for International Kite Festival conducted during the last week of April.
Polali Temple :
Polali Sri Raja Rajeshwari Temple is a popular place of worship in Dakshina Kannada. This temple is believed to be 2000 years old has great historic importance. The deity was called Porala Devi in ancient days. River Phalguni flows around the temple. The 10 feet icon in the temple is the tallest clay idol in India.
